Pros

You get a discount on flowers!

Cons

Manager are held to fire while directors get away with whatever they like. If hard work was rewarded this company would be unstoppable. Too bad it rewards whining and temper tantrums.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look at the director level, you are not getting the real picture.

    Pros

    absolutely beautiful work space
    decent discount
enough support to help you when you need it
    very flexible hours

    Cons

you are just a number and when they need to let people go, they will let you go
you cannot secure yourself a regular position without going through the seasonal position

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

care more about the people who keep showing up even after you've let them go for a month or so, employees that take on other roles when offered want to be there and want to learn... don't overlook that.

FYI - New CEO - Chris Shimojima - Formally From NIKE

I have been working at Provide Commerce part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Chris Shimojima, the new CEO (May, 2012) has offered invigorating, innovative, optimistic inspiration to expand growth. He appears to have exceptional ideas to promote the company and make it thrive all year round, not just seasonally, as it is now.

    Cons

Can't understand how 2 managers seem to run Customer Service. More people should be in those positions, because no two people should have that much control in a company. Intelligence & education is not respected, but the "in" crowd, regardless of education, experience or aptitude is promoted. For an online company, the IT department is lacking, i.e. orders confirm without customer confirmation, prices change at the end of the order, etc. IT problems are constant, ongoing and unresolved. Pay for temporary employees should be more in accordance with the COL in San Diego. I believe a reasonable, hourly pay, after one year of service should be more around $15.00. Would like to see more challenging
positions being offered for permanent positions.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

To CEO Chris Shimojima - Would like an improved avenue to offer suggestions and know they are appreciated. Example: Sent several times, suggestion that a 'Birthday Grower's Choice" bouquet should offer the additional Birthday greeting card, for purchase, which is offered in other non-specific bouquets. After several times and no change. I gave up. Such a simple and common sense improvement.
