I worked at Providence Health & Services full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Opportunities, benefits, culture.... In all, I liked working here. I gained amazing experience, and met some of the most amazing people.

Cons

As providence grows, their culture is changing. Although they still tout the mission and core values, It doesn't feel like they believe in them within their employee base like they did when I started. When I started, there was a focus on work-life balance, and on treating all employees with as much love, care, and compassion as we do to the patients. However, as Providence has grown and moved further and further from the founding Sisters, they are losing that compassion for their employees.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

I know that an organization of 64,000 (Including Swedish) can't be perfect for everyone, but if you could go back to valuing your employees, it would bring back the culture of caring.

I have been working at Providence Health & Services full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. Catholic entity, strong ties to their communities.

    Cons

Too much change in the organization right now. Working hard as a health system to consolidate services across their regions. I understand from a business model, but there is havoc amongst employees as jobs are lost and good employees are jumping shop because of the unknown.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get one department working well, slow down the pace. The departments that sre consolidating are almost useless to employees. Make sure your projects are working, listen to your employees
