I worked at Providence Health & Services full-time (more than 8 years)

Pros

Good benefits-although they have dwindled in recent hx

Cons

Administration is all about themselves. Not liked or respected by staff or physicians. Disconnedted from staff, gives lip services and general philosophy but no action. LOVES surveys but does not listen to them, LIKES credentials but does not honor them. Need a new medical and nursing director. They've chased their good staff and management away!

Not a nice place to work

I worked at Providence Health & Services

    Pros

It is always nice to have great medical benefits, but...

    Cons

The workplace environment was the worst I have ever experienced. No one is happy, everyone is miserable and only works there for a "job with benefits".

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire nicer people to manage others. The management team was not qualified to manage people. No people skills, whatsoever.

    Pros

It was a job when I needed it.

    Cons

Their late transition to EPIC... it was a debacle. Management's treatment of administrative staff.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

You need to take another look at your mission statements and apply some of them not just to your patients but to your employees as well.
