I have been working at Providence Health & Services full-time (more than 10 years)

Pros

Staff is supportive, skilled, and take care of one another. Just pick a unit that does not have a villian for manager--might be hard

Cons

Many changes---Managers and Directors selected by who you know, not by skills and experience. One in place, not mentored meaning the front line staff deal with the fallout. Upper administration--totally ingrown, incestuous! Worthless.

    Pros

Very nice company in terms of benefits and the people. It is growing and has a lot of good opportunities.

    Cons

Extremely slow to make decisions. Middle to lower management seems bound by rules and regulations that render them ineffective.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Remove some management layers.

I worked at Providence Health & Services full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    There is a retirement match

    Cons

They cater to young, inexperienced & "cheap nurses...a nurse is a nurse is a nurse."
I have years of experience &have worked there for 29 plus years. I find them very insulting...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to do the job the nurses who work for you do. No breaks...
Appreciate the nurses who have proven their loyalty throughout time.
Providence administrators make way too much money & the employees know it.
Shame on you & your mission. It does not extend to your employees.
