I have been working at Prudential Investment Management full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everything begins with recruiting, and Prudential (I work for PMCC, a division within PIM) gets recruiting right. People hire like-people, so everyone gets along. Other companies seem to have problems with transparency and HR being disconnected and the lack of a generally healthy workplace... the list goes on. I haven't seen any of that here. I've been to three different offices now, and everyone's really friendly. Once again, that's a product of effective recruiting. People are also very smart here. A lot of my coworkers have their CFA's or are studying for them. No one's in the 9-5 drawl that I see so many unfortunate employees fall into. Work isn't about mechanical key-mashing, so there's something new every day as the deals keep coming in. Lastly, great work-life balance. The pay is about average, but when you factor in the work-life balance relative to what others make (and work), then it's completely fair.

    Cons

Technology is lagging other companies, but that's what you would expect from such a large corporation. No other cons.

  2. decent place to work
