Pros

Prudential has a great work/life balance where employees are encouraged to take time off. The benefits are also very good and most managers have an open door policy.

Cons

Prudential's culture can be very slow-moving and initiatives take a long time to be completed. The pay is also average for the industry.

    Pros

    None...except for the line workers...

    Cons

The management in this area (Directors and VP) are horrible, the worst I have ever seen. There is no support, and they offen go to great extents to drag down the mid level managers and staff. They are very disingenioius and it shows in the vast migration out of this area to other departments and outside the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

get rid of the Directors and VP on Annuity New Business..

Current Employee - Associate Actuary in Newark, NJ

    Pros

Good work life balance, flexible working hours, less stress or work pressure, friendly environment, recognition of personal contributions, good colleague relationships.

    Cons

Less competitive salary, laid back work style, less incentives for people to put extra efforts to perform over the expectation, slow advancement of career ladder.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more incentives to motivate people, strike the importance of excellent work, widen the compensation difference among performance rating levels.
