Pros

Great training program for new hires with direct interaction with upper-level management, including CEO, principals of the company, and practice area directors. They are extremely approachable and committed to the firm. The company is extremely committed to their clients and providing customer satisfaction. With a goal of 20% growth every year, it is not surprising that employees have to work extremely hard here. PCG provides a fast-paced work environment that encourages entrepreneurship among employees. If you are interested in the public sector and hope to have a stimulating career, PCG is a great place to start.

Cons

Salaries are still not at the level of other consulting firms, as the clients are all public sector. The work can be extremely demanding at times.

    Pros

Great staff, excellent clients, fantastic experience. Good benefits.

    Cons

Management is driven by money. Many senior leaders show limited support for staff. Professional Development is erratic.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Some of the best financial performers are responsible for a hostile work environment - they need to be either fixed or terminated. This issue is at the heart of the poor ratings for the firm and Bill.

I have been working at Public Consulting Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Dynamic team environment, extensive client interactions, fast pace, always something different. Very satisfying to know you're making a difference in the lives of so many who need it most.

    Cons

Can be stressful at times. Clients, managers, and teammates are all demanding. Can't often "phone it in." With PCG's many different lines of work, it can be hard to know where you fit in. Need to ask questions and do research about your own company to piece it all together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to invest time and resources in Business Analysts / Consultants and Program / IT / Operations staff. Continue to build training programs. They are the engine of the company.
