I have been working at Publix part-time for more than a year

Pros

You do not have to worry about losing your job unless you are stealing or on drugs. They schedule you to work alot if you are good at what you do. Great Benefits if you qualify. Management is good.

Cons

The time it takes to qualify for benefits. Waiting for full time. Corporate changes their minds every day on how they want things set up. Store managers who do not lift a finger to help.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Store managers should fight for the workers who they are being told by the department managers are good workers and should be full time so they can proceed to managers themselves. Corporate should come in and listen to the department managers on what works for our personal stores because what works at one Publix doesn't mean it will work for all. The benefits should go back to how they used to be 90 days and then eligible. If you have an unhappy work force you are soon to have unhappy customers. Smarten up corporate.

I have been working at Publix full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Profit Plan where you earn stock based on your gross income

    Cons

Low wages, If your in it for the long haul you will definitely be a millionaire when your 60. If you want to live paycheck to paycheck until about year 15.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Evaluations are bogus, they shouldn't be allowed to just take money from you so easily over very small incidents.

I have been working at Publix full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits and retirement plans. It is nice to know that you are an owner in the company. The customers are generally polite and thankful.

    Cons

Once you reach management, your work-life balance is completely thrown out of sorts. Your pay is not enough to make the amount of time you spend there worth it. Having a store manager that hates being at the store and a lazy assistant store manager can cause misery throughout the entire store. The upper management members are not held accountable for their attitudes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The pay-scale for managers should be completely restructured. The diminishing over-time is unacceptable. When an employee is scheduled by their store manager to be at the store for 55-60 hours a week, the pay is NOT worth the loss of family and home time. FIX it! Store managers should not blame new promotions for problems that senior managers should have been working to fix before the new managers were promoted. And when the new promotions try to fix issues, don't stop them and then complain that they aren't making a difference. Chose a stance and stick with it.
