I have been working at Publix part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

meeting new people and getting to know your neighbors is fun. seeing new product is exciting. store 1360 is clean, mostly because when there are no customers, employees are required to clean things that have already been cleaned just moments prior to cleaning them after you cleaned them the first time. 90% of the non-management employees are professional to work with.

    Cons

erratic hours cause fatigue. especially when you're required to work until closing time and then turn around and open the next day. this type of scheduling creates tired employees who are prone to errors that could otherwise be avoided if thought could be put in to scheduling. attempting to make a living wage is impossible since full time seems to be offered to only the "golden employees". I've yet to see one single employee be promoted in the customer service area since I began working there.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

remember where you came from. remember your bonuses are acquired off the sweat of the folks at the bottom of the food chain. treating us all with the respect you demand would go a really long way. a majority of you look like the Keystone Cops with your attempts to put on a big show. stop already. it's a horrible look for you. VERY unprofessional. at the end of the day it is more attractive to command respect rather than demand respect.

I have been working at Publix full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

They will work with you. If you need certain time off its not that big a deal. After 10 years of employment your stock starts growing fast.

    Cons

Assistant and Managers are put threw the ringer. Pay raises are too low and really don't seem to be based on merit for management or associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get more full time help and quit hiring unqualified people.
