Puratos – “Great place, but beware of some pitfalls”

Pros

* International company
* Very competitive salary
* Great benefits (health insurance for the whole family, free/cheap food, 13th & 14th month, ...)
* Family oriented (insurance, company family events, ...)
* Great people
* Great travelling opportunities (depends on your position though)
* Good work/life balance
* For techs & lab: you get to work with the latest & greatest tools

Cons

* Dress code (more strict if you're male ...)
* Very traditional/conservative corporate culture
* Management is all about politics (but hey, where isn't it...)
* Very hard to get promoted based solely on merit... you need a university degree to get over a certain level

Advice to Senior Management

Great job @ leading the company in general, but lose the dress code for non-customer facing positions, do something about the excessive politics games going on at the management level & promote people based on accomplishments in the company, not in academics!
