Pros

Departments are small enough that you can interact with co workers. But the university is large enough for a vary diverse field.

Cons

Just as working in a large company, problem solving between departments takes weeks to solve.

    Pros

People are nice, work is steady and mostly 40 hour work week unless you're an exec. Their employee appreciation day called Spring Fling is pretty awesome.

    Cons

Sometimes the work can lack challenge and be very redundant. There also much moving up the ladder or promotions. They are often stuck in their ways and change happens very very slowly but then it's done impulsively. It makes for a constant restart and delays of projects.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give more specific feedback on evaluations other than just the 1-5 scale per category.

Great people, smiling faces, but when you are part-time go luck going any further.

    Pros

Flexible hours, happy people, very friendly environment, open to new ideas.

    Cons

There is no room for growth, not even from part-time to full. They hire part-time employees like it is their job, but never let anyone part-time move up.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is no need to leave a paper trail 20 miles long. When your employees are part-time, they cannot do everything.
