Pros

Work flexibility, competency of management, competitive work environment, friendly work environment, ability to grow quickly, opportunities to travel, and good benefits.

Cons

Salary is competitive to the other Big Four accounting firms, but the nature of demand for the position helps to hold initial salaries down.

Advice to Management

I would advise management to continue to the great relationship with employees and the continuous work put forth to better grow the firm.

    Pros

It's very easy to advance within PwC. The only people who stick around are people who can't get jobs elsewhere, so it's easy to look good compared to people who have been there longer than you. If you're motivated it's pretty easy to be an all-star.

    Cons

Work life balance does not exist. Grossly underpaid for the hours worked. Don't even dare try to calculate your hourly wage. Unless you like working 80 hours a week and booking 60 of those so that your manager and partner don't get pissed for destroying the budget, look elsewhere. There are a number of firms in the area who will respect your contributions much more. At the San Jose PwC office you're just a number. There's a reason that turnover in this office is hovering between 35 and 40% right now.

    Advice to Management

Management should consider listening to employees and addressing issues within the company. Stop holding office-wide events to discuss all of the improvements that are "coming" and actually do something.

  2. Great people, great leadership, great opportunities to grow if you show yourself to be willing and capable.

    Pros

    Diversity of people
    Diversity of clients
    Diversity of opinions
Lots of Type A personalities to challenge and compete with you

    Cons

For some, travel may be a downside.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the people who have technical skills to support delivery. They may not be future owners of the franchise but are critical to the success of the firm.
