Current Employee - Advisory Director in New York, NY
Current Employee - Advisory Director in New York, NY

I have been working at PwC full-time (more than a year)

Pros

Very good salary, standard benefits

Cons

No sense of community, "each man on his own" culture, old dark office spaces

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Just because a person talks well doesn't mean he/she has consulting skills. Many of the senior experts that you bring in from the industry don't know how to write, much less put together a decent presentation. Weed those out!

Current Intern - Risk Assurance Intern in Dallas, TX

I have been working at PwC as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is smart, energetic, and helpful. Being an intern or new hire in a new organization may be overwhelming at times, and PwC does a great job of providing the necessary guidance, training, and resources for a smooth transition and great work environment.

    Cons

The work can be very monotonous and boring (which is just the nature of audit). Long hours during busy season means zero work-life balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The management on each project team can make or break the experience for all employees. It's really up to them to make things fun! (team building, lunches, coffee runs, etc)

Great people, great projects, frustrating internal policies and support

Current Employee - Advisory Manager in Chicago, IL
Current Employee - Advisory Manager in Chicago, IL

I have been working at PwC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

I came to PwC Advisory by way of an acquisition. Since joining the firm, I have been impressed with the quality of talent, especially at the more senior levels. The firm truly has industry leading experts working on the most interesting, most difficult projects at the best clients.

    Cons

The internal policies at PwC are standard across the firm, and are heavily skewed towards the audit practice (as they are the vast majority of employees). This makes some of these policies irrelevant to the advisory / consulting practice, and frustrating to be required to adhere to. In addition, PwC's internal technology (laptops, software, etc.) is outdated and not as conducive to productivity as the technology available at some consulting competitors.
