Great place to work although opportunity can be limited

Senior Manager (Former Employee) New York, NY

ProsOverwhelmingly smart, results oriented, hard working people. There are great benefits including real flexibility/mobile work. Anyone can work anywhere for the most part, depending upon their project, and the technology is in place to support it. Also a lot of options to move roles within the firm, with the opportunity to try to do things that you haven't done before, out of your area. Compensation is carefully measured against the market and maintained. Excellent services to support employees.

ConsThe performance management system is subjective, antiquated and ineffective. Career growth depends upon finding an advocate in a senior position to help move people along. Consistent high performance (and high ratings) and achieving results do not assure progress. Lower performers that have achieved less impressive results can advance more quickly than high performers, and often do. There has been a practice of changing the requirements for promotion as well, so that you might work for 2-3 years to meet requirements that are then made invalid - and you have to start over.

Advice to Senior ManagementThrow out the performance management in place and start over. Set objective criteria for promotion and stick to it.

Learning curve was excellent, too much politics

Associate (Former Employee) New York, NY

    I worked at PwC full-time

Pros: - great learning experience - 10/10 on that - good benefits - opportunities if you… Cons: - if you cannot kiss a**, you better not go for it - salaries look good, but for the time you spent… Advice to Senior Management: - keep working hard, you can make it 9am to… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More

Good for the resume, bad for everything else

Experienced Audit Associate (Current Employee) San Jose, CA

I have been working at PwC full-time for more than a year

Pros: It is a great company to have on your resume. Some of the people… Cons: You have to demand work life balance or you won't get it. Culture is very old school, especially when compared to the surrounding Silicon Valley.… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend More
