Working at PwC as an Intern

Intern (Current Employee) Tokyo (Japan)

ProsPeople at PwC really take an active role training and caring about the personal development of their interns and not simply treating them like the beasts of burden they can dump excess admin on. I was really surprised at how open everyone was and how quick they were to integrate me into their team. Even if I was leaving after a year, my boss and everyone around me made massive efforts to help me learn new skills and discover what my talents were

Though the learning curve was sometimes quite steep and it was very intimidating at first, you stop being afraid when you realize there is no shame at asking people's help here. They try to encourage open-communication in the office, and because of this as well as because of how well staff are treated, everyone is really nice and always willing to help.

It's such a satisfying feeling to see how much you progress and how your responsibilities gradually get more important as time goes on. As internships go, its a great learning experience!

ConsThe learning curve is very steep and if you are not constantly stepping up your game and proactively taking on new responsibilities, people will forget about you and exclude you from new projects. I think you really need to be willing to constantly out-do yourself to do well at this job.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

    Dreadful place to work

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

I have been working at PwC

The firm relies on these people… Cons: Very long hours, discriminatory appraisal and promotion system that is based on office politics and… Advice to Senior Management: Remove the flawed appraisal system so that it actually motivates talented staff rather than just rewarding those who play the system but are actually incompetent,… No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company… More
