Pros

A lot of exposure to various industries, being able to see the operations from beginning to end. Earlier years, you need to put in a lot of hours, but after that you can reap the rewards.

Cons

Be good with politics, a lot of people want to get promoted, need to apple polish your supervisors. Take on extra responsibilities.
