Former Employee - Audit Associate in Houston, TX
Former Employee - Audit Associate in Houston, TX

I worked at PwC full-time (more than a year)

Pros

-Resume builder, resume builder, resume builder
-If you get to travel, you'll barely pay for a thing
-Good and very low priced insurance coverage
-Some very smart people, balanced out with some very dumb/lazy people

Cons

-Too many people to manage effectively; allows low and mediocre performers to get lost in the mix and advance at the same speed as people who put in more effort
-401k is a complete joke. 25 cents on the dollar match with a 5 year vesting period.
-HR doesn't care about keeping people happy and will actively work against what you want if it means keeping you in their resource pool
-Pay is insanely below market, especially relative to hours worked
-Low morale; virtually nobody plans to stay here more than 2-3+ years so it kind of creates an "I don't give an F culture" among associates

Doesn't Recommend
Neutral Outlook
No opinion of CEO

Former Employee - Audit Senior in Portland, OR

I worked at PwC full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Great training opportunities
-Learn a lot in the late hours
    -401k match
    -Great family leave benefits
-Great network of experts in specialized areas

    Cons

-A number of out of market partners service Portland clients. If you're working for out of market partners, your jobs get ignored from a staffing/rewards perspective.
-Partners don't call clients on issues enough
-HR personnel are unreliable and overinvolved in trying to address staff complaints.
-Firm has gone crazy with policies to address PCAOB comments that don't really improve audit quality.
-In an attempt to outsource work to foreign personnel, staff aren't receiving proper training on the basics of auditing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    -Cut abusive clients
-Limit HR involvement in day to day matters
-Train personnel to deal with conflicts one on one
-Don't be so afraid of the PCAOB

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook

Former Employee - WMTS Intern in Pittsburgh, PA
Former Employee - WMTS Intern in Pittsburgh, PA

I worked at PwC as an intern (less than a year)

    Pros

Very nice people to work with and well compensated for the WMTS internship in Pittsburgh, PA.

    Cons

The work I was completing was basic printing and filing which is expected in an internship. However, if I was not printing or filing I was sitting at my desk waiting to be given work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Utilize fewer interns because too much of the internship was sitting around.
