Pros

Have the opportunity to advance. Pushed to be better. Work with a lot of smart people. Always learning something new.

Cons

No one cared that they paid you next to nothing. Partners can be very nice, but think you aren't smart enough to understand they make a lot more money when you work 70 billable hours per week.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care more about the workers. Your investment is in your resources. Quit worrying about how many hundreds of thousands you will make and higher more people and don't over-react and get rid of them at the first sight of slowing times because then it makes everyone else work more and want to leave.

I have been working at PwC

    Pros

Given the large size of the company, there are endless opportunities, for education, or transfers to other lines of service. Overall, a professional work environment where leaders seem to mean well.

    Cons

It's easy to be lost in the shuffle - networking and performance matter. Work life balance sometimes just feel like an HR initiative, but there really are incredible perks (such as flexible work arrangements or part-time schedules) that you can make work for you.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The recession hit the company hard. Watch out for disgruntled employees who feel like they have been squeezed (both in terms of compensation and hours worked). This varies by office and practice, but seems like the firm is moving in the right direction these days.
