Pros

Career development excellent - those talented will certainly be valued in the firm. HR had some incredibly interesting and competent from different backgrounds.

Cons

Some internal politics - communication issues between levels of staff, and people with some real ego's who think they are a bit more important than they are.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maintain better communication channels with staff, and focus on how the firm together can reach business objectives.

    Pros

PwC is definitely a place where initiative and innovation are encouraged, if not always rewarded; you can't just wait for someone to hand you a map for building your career. Building your personal brand is a daily mission and informal coaching is embedded in the culture.

    Cons

The structure of the US firm continues to undergo a great deal of change as PwC ramps up its consulting business and builds out its global delivery network. The politics across the lines of business and internal communication challenges across geographic boundaries sometimes get in the way of winning work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Becoming a global leader is not just an efficiency play; it's more than centralizing processes and offshoring/outsourcing your infrastructure. Start investing broadly in the right processes and technology to foster innovation, enhance teaming and significantly improve knowledge sharing at a global level.

Great opportunities, too much corruption, incompetence and nepotism

I have been working at PwC

    Pros

Globally great brand recognizable around the world. Great global network, resources and secondments. Experience at PwC often leads to great jobs with industry.

    Cons

Emerging markets don't always meet global standards. Poor back office support, nepotism and institutional rigging of salaries, performance reviews and time sheets forcing huge amounts of overtime and unrecorded (read: unrecognized) work- all destroy morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Clean out the Middle East practice. A new Managing Partner without the tools or people to support him gets delayed and deceived.
