QEK's relationship with the client is of mutual respect; though the QEK "team" dynamic needs introspection.

Pros

Corporate office culture is relaxed yet professional.
Client treats QEK team as part of their own.
Vacation and personal time off (PTO) policy is standard for the automotive industry.
Health insurance benefits are excellent (though expensive).

Cons

Inflexible work schedule.
Compensation on the low side.
Semi-annual and annual performance evaluations seem to be at management's discretion (thus they are never performed).
Health insurance benefits are expensive (though excellent).
401(k) contributions are not matched by the company.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Individual feedback is important! Make the time to inquire and heed your employee's concerns regarding the workplace and, especially, the team dynamic.

    Pros

Work week is M-F 8-5pm with holidays off.

    Cons

QEK does not appreciate good workers. Titles are thrown around and they mean nothing. There is no structure in pay level, you're paid what they feel like you are worth. But the person next to you doing the same thing is being paid a lot more.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Appreciate your employees and compensate what they are worth. Its not necessary to micromanage and employee that is capable of performing their tasks.

    Pros

Middle management is fantastic. Those supervisors who have contact with their employees on a regular basis are very in touch with both employee and customer needs.

    Cons

They are a contract house placing employees within other companies long-term. This is a hard HR position to be in, and they do not thread the needle well.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Upper management does not seem to remember their employees away from the headquarters area. They are a multi-state operation, but unless you are close to Detroit and working at a QEK site, many of the "perks" are unavailable to you.
Also, I would cringe any time I heard that upper management was "improving things" because of this "far away" perspective.
