Slow pace, but in a good way!

I worked at QUICKCOMM SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS full-time

Pros

Wonderful management all around, more than enough time and thought put into major projects (the attitude is always slow down and take your time getting this done the right way!), superior communication amongst teams, intensely maintained databases/systems, products are full of state of the art features, lots of efficiencies created because of excellent planning, expectation to take plenty of time off and leave your computer at work on the weekends, inability by management to effectively fill the day with enough work (a lot of "drop everything and let's go to happy hour").

Cons

Everyone is so great at their job there is often only 2-3 hours of work a day.

Advice to Management

Speed things up, the slow pace is a little boring.

    Pros

    Access to Vodafone product set and people Good scale to achieve without being too big

    Cons

    Petty micro management Vodafone bureaucracy but no real access to their budget or ability to influence Hit and miss in standard of co-workers Lots and lots of nepotism from TnT side

    Advice to Management

    Clear out the "execs" and hire some new blood. Get greater alignment with Vodafone so that you can have some influence and really achieve something.

    Pros

    Lots of room for fast growth, decent pay, always something new to learn, flexibility with work schedule, ability to get involved in lots of different projects.

    Cons

    Poor management all around, not enough time or thought put in to major projects (the attitude is always how fast can we get this done, even if it isn't right), poor communication amongst teams, poorly maintained databases/systems, products are full of defects, lots of extra work created because of poor planning, expectation to work lots of extra hours and on weekends, inability by management to effectively prioritize escalations (a lot of "drop everything and work on this instead").

    Advice to Management

    Slow things down, stop over promising to customers, invest more time in getting things right from the beginning.
