Former Employee – worked at QinetiQ North America full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Small, independent shop with big-company benefits
Great team of people (now disbanded, unfortunately)
Worthwhile projects (for DoE and DoD)
Cons – No room to advance
Skills got stagnant (my own fault for not keeping up in my free time)
QinetiQ operates on a catch-your-own-work basis; if you run out of contract, you're done
No intra-company job finding service when the whole office was laid off
Advice to Senior Management – The multiple-companies-under-one-roof model is very adversarial, and leads to isolation rather than cooperation. You could get a lot more from your offices if you'd facilitate intra-office migration.
