I have been working at QinetiQ North America full-time for more than 5 years

Pros

Decent pay.
Good people in my group.

Cons

Very disorganized, nothing is planned ahead.
Manufacturing management, screams and swears when a problem arises, very unprofessional and disrespectful behavior, play favorites.
Lack of trust,.
No job security, employees getting lay off every month.
Time tracking employees.

    I worked at QinetiQ North America full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Small, independent shop with big-company benefits
    Great team of people (now disbanded, unfortunately)
    Worthwhile projects (for DoE and DoD)

    Cons

    No room to advance
    Skills got stagnant (my own fault for not keeping up in my free time)
    QinetiQ operates on a catch-your-own-work basis; if you run out of contract, you're done
    No intra-company job finding service when the whole office was laid off

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    The multiple-companies-under-one-roof model is very adversarial, and leads to isolation rather than cooperation. You could get a lot more from your offices if you'd facilitate intra-office migration.
