I have been working at QinetiQ North America

Pros

The facility is top notch and the location in Reston is great for those living in Northern Virginia.

Cons

Some contracts are better run than others

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Provide better equipment for people to do their job. IT is especially stingy with computers and keeping up to date on software.

I worked at QinetiQ North America

    Pros

Salary was very well. Work was adequate but lacked the importance that security requires. Not a bad place to work.

    Cons

Stuck in Yuma, AZ. Site visits are not paid for locally although the distance varied. Needs better management that understands security.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Really need to have program managers that know how to handle security analyst and the particular needs when dealing with the federal government.

Former Employee - Anonymous Employee in Reston, VA

I worked at QinetiQ North America

    Pros

Cutting edge technology focused on military and security solutions. Comprehensive benefits. Fairly flexible in terms of work schedules. Casual work environment.

    Cons

Having a difficult time transitioning to a company that needs to invest its own money to build markets. Still too much desire to fund development efforts with customer provided monies. Key senior management individuals have too little experience running a business.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management needs to do a better job communicating to employees. They also need to understand that they are going to have to be less risk averse if they want to penetrate desire markets.
