Current Employee - Senior Software Engineer in San Diego, CA

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Excellent Location (if you are working in San Diego), Flexibility to come at whatever time you like (up to 11 AM though), may do work from home

    Cons

Long working hours, Can not leave early at all (Will be working till very very late), Lot of fire-fighting for meeting up crazy customer release schedules, no rewards for general people who work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value people and let them work less and efficiently rather than putting a pressure to work long. As every other person and your manager seems to work long hours, this puts added pressure to work long hours

I have been working at Qualcomm as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

competitive salary, lodging reimbursement, relocation reimbursement, paid timeoff.
worked on projects just same as a full-time. oppurtunities to get access to top-level technologies and made real contributions to the future products

    Cons

management processing was slow, probably due to huge organizations and huge amount of employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

new employee orientation should be more departmental-/team-specific other than general introductions to the whole company.
