Pros

- Good work / life balance - Smart people - Good perks - San Diego - Cordial communications. No shout fest - Company is doing well

Cons

- Low salaries - Low bonus - Did options for a while and they lost lot of smart people. Now they do grants. - Consensus building takes a lot of time - Many people do not have system level knowledge and are focused on their areas

Advice to Management

Increase salaries

A sweatshop in the USA. Long hours are inevitable. If you have a life at all, let it go before you work here.

    Pros

Some discounts around town for employees.

    Cons

    # No work- life balance. # Most work almost 12 hours everyday. Not the managers maybe, but for a new recruit, that is a minimum for months. # Salary is very less for the extremely demanding work. # Terrible work culture. # Half the work force is Temp employees. That says a lot about how Qualcomm wants to save more and pay the absolute least it can.

    Advice to Management

Read the above comments. It's OK to let your employees have a life.

I worked at Qualcomm as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Qualcomm has a great internship program. They flew us all out and paid for our living expenses, and also flew us out to San Diego for a weekend. There is also a lot of interaction with your manager/mentor (may depend on your team) and most interns are given projects with an impact.

    Cons

There is a good amount of bureaucracy, which is to be expected from such a large company.
