I worked at Qualcomm as an intern for less than a year

Pros

San Diego weather, recruiter-organized events on beaches and other places, workplace is inviting and warm

Cons

Apartments became unavailable, so I had to live in a hotel, separating me from a majority of other interns

I have been working at Qualcomm full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits pretty good. Mobile industry is hot. Lateral movement possible, esp. for those willing to move to San Diego. Not difficult to procure test equipment. Good engineers.

    Cons

High pressure. Very long hours. Large, entrenched middle and upper management layers make career advancement difficult.
