Pros

- Good hourly pay
- Complete coverage for housing and relocation expenses
- Plenty of intern events and involvement

Cons

- Work experience is highly dependent on manager and team. It's possible to get stuck doing boring work all summer since it's not normally possible to transfer to a different team as an intern.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have set goals, deliverables, and dates for interns and temps before they come onboand.

    Pros

Excellent housing and compensation package provided to interns. Very good mentoring program - never felt like I was being pressured, but still was able to contribute to 'real' work. Good program for moving into a full-time position.

    Cons

The lion's share of the company's official attention appears to be given to groups that work at the main San Diego campus. Groups that are in other locations (even if still in San Diego) can feel a bit isolated.

    Pros

Working at Qualcomm exposes you to hundreds of different products in several markets. Mobile is not the end of the story. Cultural and intellectual exchange are part of the job. On top of this, good salary and benefits contribute to satisfaction.

    Cons

The company is large and established, therefore career opportunities may be limited with respect to smaller companies. Communication across boundaries is sometimes difficult.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Ideas from the bottom should have more opportunities to bubble up.
