I worked at Queen's University Belfast as an intern (less than an year)

Pros

Work on latest technologies take place. The people are helpful. The campus has all modern facilities. Trying to attract talent from developing countries. Free food and travel was provided.

Cons

The work is mediocre. I did not find the challenge I was looking for in the work. My work was not aligned with the overall research activities of the lab.

I worked at Queen's University Belfast as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Very well organised administration, big plus for international people depending on visas

    Cons

Very equality based in the sense everyone gets equal recognition regardless on their effort, which can be very demotivating sometimes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Queen's University Belfast part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Working for Queen's University allowed me to effectively balance work and study due to the university's excellent student jobshop. By concentrating working hours outside of term time and only allowing 15 hours of work per week the university ensured that working life did not interfere with my education.

    Cons

Wages are paid one month in arrears. While standard for this type of work, the delay in payment was nevertheless somewhat disappointing.
