I have been working at Quintiles

Pros

I had a great manager and was contracted with a great Pharmaceutical Company. Great pay, car allowance, benefits, etc. My manager was always willing to help and overall the experience has been positive.

Cons

For my particular contract, the end date was very uncertain. They should have handled situation differently.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees would be more loyal to you if you were most honest and up front about contract standings with them. Offer more help when contracts end in order to keep the employees you have already invested in.

    I have been working at Quintiles full-time

    Pros

    Recognizable brand
    Good resume builder
    Computer reimbursement plan (but even that's been reduced)

    Cons

    Lack of respect for employees, work-life balance
    Productivity fueled by fear of being laid off
    Bonus pools rarely rewarded to the masses vs. senior management
    Annual review on a "curve" - for you to succeed, others must fail

    You should focus on building trust, appreciating the loyalty of long-term employees and weeding out managers that perpetuate tension and fear in your workforce

    I have been working at Quintiles full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

    Knowledgable, professional colleagues, huge experience, big company

    Cons

    New management of training department is not supportive and difficult to communicate with. The feeling is they do not understand what they do. The system of trainings is almost destroyed by them. I feel less and less support for my staff. Workload for key bread-makers is not balanced at all. I am pushed to convince people they do not work much...it is very painfull to observe such changes versus highest standards in communication and quality we followed in the past.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    To put much more thinking when you hire top-management and decision-makers for key departments from outside and from the industries very far from Clinical Research. Some of them have already broken Quintiles standards and many talents left the company. The worst thing here that this process continues...
