I worked at Quintiles as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

Friendly people, massive growth, smart people

    Cons

Just went public so starting to really focus on cost instead of growth, high level of politics within company, everything was about who you knew vs what you know.

I worked at Quintiles full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work flexibility, good pay, stable company, good benefits.

    Cons

Bios is not good for foreigners. Bad managers who hates foreigners. You will be passed for promotions just because English isn't your first language. Managers will do anything to promote those they go lunch with. if a manager hates you, you will be put in projects that you will not have any lead responsibilities just to derail your promotions and have you quit. The company has tuition benefits but in this department, they will make sure you will not go back to school. They will only allow you one class and even with that, your manager will give you low rating at annual
performance review so you stop school by not meeting job expectations. You will not be compensated for tuition if that happens. I saw a guy who was not promoted because he was Chinese and didn't talk much. The guy left the company and came back but to a different department that allowed him to even further his education. I have seen the cute single ladies promoted faster too. The work load is just killing. Some department are good but not this one. They have a mentoring program that some staff do not even know it existed. Those who deserve mentors do not even have because their managers are not interested in them at all. You will ask for a project to lead but you will never get it at the same time they want you to show leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Respect other people's culture - understand cultural diversity and note that American culture is not always the right culture. Also, treat your current employees just as you treat new ones.
