    Pros

Opportunity to be working again, while searching for a "better" company with stability. No voicemail success stories required. Not required to sign a contract committing oneself to a specific length of employment. (You can quit as easily as they can terminate the contract, and management knows it.) Health insurance, Health Enhancement pay, meaning if you pay X amount for gym membership, submit paperwork, and they will pay you an additional X for your gym membership. I'm about to look into a yoga class.

    Cons

Using a "time card", submitting all receipts, for expenses, finite contract which may be terminated at any time, no stability.

    Advice to Management

Ease up on the micromanaged operations: submitting all receipts, delayed reimbursement payment, offer company cars in all your contracts. The use of a company car demonstrates professionalism and enhances the parent contracted company's image.

    Pros

Good vacation is you're an Assoc. Director or above. Doing some interesting work.

    Cons

Senior management has completely lost touch with employees. While claiming double digit growth in profits, raises are practically non-existent (~2% if you're lucky) and the employee contribution for health insurance went up from 10% to 35%, and they blamed the ACA while hiding the cost burden shifting. Management is also stuck in the 1990's with bell-curve forced distribution ratings, and beginning to talk about "the new normal". Pretty much all non-mandated training is slashed, no advancement opportunities for most IT positions. As soon as they eliminated the matrixed organization, the opportunities for people to actually advance in their career were eliminated. Now it's only about delivery. And to top it off, at least in the main headquarters, they're going to bench-style seating with less square footage for a cubette than is required for a veal pen. Nothing says "Quintiles cares" about its employees like pitiful raises, cutting benefits while shifting more cost to the employee, cutting training and career progression, and then moving you into a rabbit hutch of a desk.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your employees. Pay attention to the falling rankings in best places to work and the employee engagement survey. The constant focus on only delivery while eliminating your change management specialists is resulting in broken systems, quality challenges and low morale. Surprise. A re-org every year that breaks up functioning teams and distributes them across dysfunctional teams just makes all teams dysfunctional.
