I have been working at Quintiles full-time

    Pros

The people who hold your same position are all very nice and very helpful. They are your best resources when on boarding since you don't get any other guidance elsewhere.

    Cons

Your experience at Quintiles will largely depend on who your direct line manager is as well as what project/product your are assigned to. Many of those in upper management or who hold higher positions shouldn't be there and are awful at managing people. You get told repeatedly the things are are doing wrong and never feel empowered or trusted to do anything right. Most managers at other companies understand that life happens outside if work and are willing to be flexible and work with you to achieve that work life balance. Not at Quintiles. For such a big company that has created this image of being progressive and the "gold standard" in clinical research, they are behind the times by decades when it comes to management. Everyone is by the books and assumes you are there to take advantage of the system. No one here tries to empower you and support you - apart from the fading reputation of this company, they don't offer anything here worth staying for and that you can't find elsewhere.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put qualified people in management roles. Most managers end up in that position not because they are qualified but because it was time to get promoted to the next step. Listen to employees who complain of these issues and do something about it.
