Pros

Best reasons to work for Qwest is it offers a good benefits package and reasonable salary for boring, uncreative, unrewarding work, and it's a tough job market right now.
You could have a successful career here if:
Your mind is not creative or particularly active;
Boring and repetitive is okay as long as it pays the bills;
You are easily satisfied;
You either don't recognize or take insult when you are being treated like cattle or grade-school children; You don't recognize or mind being manipulated with juvenile psychology or cheap Pavlovian rewards.

Cons

Mediocre management at best - made up of "yes" people strong in bean counting, weak in people management and systems skills, and tends towards complacency; Very stuffy and rigid corporate culture. IT not comprised of the best and brightest. Company is in downsizing mode, not many opportunities to advance and a sale has long been expected.

Advice to Senior Management

Admit to yourself your own marginal competence and be more open to ideas and treating staff like actual individual adult humans.
