I worked at R+L Carriers full-time (less than a year)

Pros

I went from part time to full time with no issue.
Lots of down time
my coworkers were pretty good

Cons

Terminal Manager could of cared less about security.
Brought ideas to the Terminal Manager and most of the time, he wouldn't even listen.
Some of the front management were rude and brushed off my help.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the officers, yea they just check trucks, but they could have good ideas to add to the security and loss prevention of the terminal.

No opinion of CEO

    I worked at R+L Carriers full-time

    Pros

Decent LTL service with good on time performance and low claims ratio. Decent benefits. There are good people working there at the director level and lower.

    Cons

Notice to current employees: R+L Carrier or R+L Global Logistics will not pay out a 2 weeks notice. Most of the time you will be walked out the day you give notice (both sales and operations). This has been confirmed by HR (after leaving) and by multiple employees that have left. Make sure your new employer will let you start work immediately unless you want unpaid time off between jobs. Pay is not competitive and ownership does not value salespeople. Their R+L Global Logistics division recently laid off 75% of its sales force only keeping the top few performers. I believe most of them have quit. Leadership/Ownership has no idea how to run a freight forwarder. Ops VP's have left as well as many Director level ops people.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire a consultant. Stop all the nepotism in strategy positions. Good people in place are the key to making money and growing.
