Pros

Paycheck. I had to use at least 5 words here so this is just filler.

Cons

Management that believes they are the Second Coming, Favoritism, Health insurance cost prohibitive, Too much work expected of too few people, Product quality declining, Pension frozen

Advice to ManagementAdvice

The print industry is becoming obsolete, you need to face this fact. It cannot be efficient when you have facilities scattered all over the country loaded at 50% capacity. Make the big boy decsion and close a few locations. Help those in shuttered locations get an education and start a new career. Your decision to not invest in new equipment nor spend dollars to maintain old equipment cannot be a sustainable business model. Training for tech positions is practically non existent, Years ago newly promoted techs would receive a month of classroom training before being put on a line, now they are thrown out there and expected to pick it up on the job. Listen to your employees, the ones actually doing the work on the factory floor. They are the ones that know what is needed to get the job done in the most efficient manner. Working smarter not harder is the key to success, not blood, sweat and anti-depressants..Stop changing all the company policies to strip employees of their rights and privilidges. If and when this economy turns around and jobs are once again available I believe you will find most of your talent leaving due to the decisions you have (or haven't) made over the past few years.

I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Job security and coworkers are nice.

    Cons

Work all the time. Judged as a group. Pension removed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Bring pension back, you are losing all talent. You're left with young people that don't know how to print. Your printing plants won't be around much longer.

I have been working at R.R. Donnelley full-time for more than a year

    Pros

A temporary paycheck until you find something better

    Cons

Low wages, no sick days (yes, you read it right), formula for accruing vacation days that is difficult to figure out, if you work off-site main office doesn't know you exist, lousy health benefits, lack of communication throughout the company, absolutely no recognition for work well done, no bonus, no upward mobility, and an insulting pay raise

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This company needs to reassess how it treats white collar workforce, such as those in its outsourcing acquisitions. Its roots lie with blue collar employees, which is fine... but it needs to EVOLVE. It still tries to fit a square peg in a round hole...
