High turnover. Pushing new biz too hard and not staffed properly for all the pitch work.

Pros

Great people and culture. Everyone has a lot of fun at the office and is relatively easy to get along with. Moves across the agency departments are easy if you want to make a career move.

Cons

High turnover with little no no on-boarding for new employees. Low pay and yearly layoffs to "right size the business". Majority work a 40 hour week and then there are about 20% that work anywhere from 50-60+ hour weeks with no recognition. Raises and promotions are bi-yearly and very political. Promotions are not based on how good you are, but about politics and seniority.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people who know what they are doing, promote the ones that work hard and put out great work, get rid of all the leaches that don't contribute.

    Pros

Lots of different projects, lots of high-profile clients, occasional opportunity for international projects

    Cons

The development process did not seem well thought out, account executives did the job project managers should do, they talked a good game about valuing employees but their actions tended to say otherwise, tried to brand everything ("Bubbles" instead of departments led my "Bubble Heads" - I have no idea why people didn't take this seriously...), high churn

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Actually read books on process and change management, design processes not based on gut but based on best practices - and listen to the line

    Pros

RAPP's management does a good job at presenting ideas and initiatives. Selling is certainly a strength of theirs. Most of the people seem to be nice on a personal level. Food is frequently served.

    Cons

Everything else. Management has no clue as to how work should get done. Lots of talk from highly-paid people but very little action. Egos. People getting hired into leadership roles with little real experience prior to getting hired. There is also a lot of politics in the office across departments. Getting cooperation across the various disciplines is nearly impossible.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Earn some credibility by knowing your s*** then you will get respect from the staff.
