I worked at RB full-time (More than 3 years)

Pros

There is always an opportunity to fix something Challenging by nature to fix whatever issue/business situation you have inherited Can grow in the ladder if you are smart to pick opportunities where you are able to deliver them fast.

Cons

Many projects die after months because the changes/turnover/lack of follow-up of the person that inherited the project. RB is very international/multicultural company, this also implies you are in a "lottery" of personalities that will be your teamwork You can perceive when people have been or not been raised within RB by identifying those that are constantly celebrating the "past glories". It is not a company for people that are process oriented or are looking for a work/life balance You need to be aware of your own development, RB will not offer you "formal" training. People that are >4 years within RB seems to forget what is happening in the external world in terms of best practices. Career opportunities only come to mobile people

Advice to Management

As many other companies, communication would be really good to improve alignment to RB goals. It is good the new vision build for the company and more investment in sustainability. Use more the HR function to assess the climate within the departments of the company.

I have been working at RB full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Since the very first day you are already given autonomy and responsibility. You need to learn things quickly and to establish relationships in order to "survive". Management is open to dialogue and you can raise your hand whenever you feel like!

    Cons

The whole company has a very short-term view that often results is tough timings, strong pressure, waste of resources to do things that then result were not needed! HR is basically absent, prepare you package when you arrive and wonder if something is going wrong only when you leave. Performance is not rewarded as it should be. I do not feel meritocracy is really a value here.

    Advice to Management

Try to limit turnover, thinking also about people and not only about results. If you care about the former, they will be more motivated and committed to reach the latter.

I have been working at RB full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Entrepreneurial culture Tremendous work satisfaction Quick career progression International exposure and mobility Good compensation

    Cons

HR does not exist IS systems are ancient and creaky Currently, growth is tougher than in the past

    Advice to Management

Stick the course. Try not to move people so much. Stability in people is key to deliver your goals. Create a growth path for those who are not mobile out of their markets. Invest in more Asian talent - Asia is where the future growth is.
