Pros

Talented team of people to work with and learn from Experienced and passionate leadership team that has proven abilities in the industry Great benefits and understanding of what makes a great company

Cons

Very competitive. It is probably not a place to kick back and put it on cruise control or you may find yourself getting left behind.

Advice to Management

Growth is good as long as it is controlled and sustainable growth. It would seem sensible that we could expand beyond the markets currently served.

    Pros

You aren't slotted into a narrow role at RBA. Since I've started working here I've been involved in Pre-Sales work, Statement of Work creation, Business Analysis, Architecture, Engineering and Training. RBA takes thought leadership from their employees seriously and gives us the ability to lead technical workshops and research new solutions that can be delivered to clients. There isn't a lot of vertical movement with titles in the consultant ranks. That being said it's nice to not get hung up on attaining titles, and overall compensation for consultants is very good. If your goal is to grow your skill set this is a great place for that. RBA also strongly believes in work/life balance and it's a great place to work as a consultant with a family. If you do have to work overtime for a client more times than not you'll have access to revenue sharing for that time to offset the loss of family time. They also carry a bench if you're between clients. You can use bench time to sharpen skills and get caught up with technology skills that you may not have been exposed to at previous clients.

    Cons

For people hung up on titles, having a "consultant" title for a number of years with little chance at a new title may be frustrating. PTO/Holiday time is below average. If you do have access to revenue sharing (totally depends on your client) you can cash out revenue sharing time for PTO rather than pay. Bonus compensation is based on annual client billings figures rather than quarterly. Consulting has natural ebbs and flows, and if you have a bad quarter it'll be difficult to get your annual bonus.

    Advice to Management

Continue investing in your consultants and encourage them to become thought leaders in the IT community.

    Pros

    - Location on Lake Minnetonka - Consultants and strategies are "A" players - Family focus organization - The sales team wants to win and teams up to build strategies to close business - Great events and parties - Pay is inline with the industry

    Cons

    - Poor working environment - Poor communication with in cross functional groups - Lack mutual respect for employees from Partners and Sr. Leadership

    Advice to Management

Respect others and they will respect you. Know your place in the digital marketing space; large organizations will not hand you $500K deals without creds. Build a portfolio of work, update website with current partners. Rely less on Microsoft Partnership (which is purchased). Evolve.
