I have been working at REAL Software Systems

Pros

- Great colleagues
- Flexible work environment
- Multitude of client interactions and expectations to develop inter-personal skills and business tact

Cons

- Isolated departments, with muddled lines of communication
- Lack of clear communication from upper management
- Lack of clear career advancement path
- Lack of clear responsibility
- Unprofessional firing practices (no notice or prior warnings)
- A reactive, versus proactive approach to handling issues, internally and externally

Advice to ManagementAdvice

- Give us a clear goal for the company that everyone can look up to, aside from, "Let's make these sales figures."
- Promote true innovation and openness within the organization to tap the full potential of their employees (there are quite a few that are under-utilized and having their skills go to waste)
- Re-evaluate the hiring process. It takes too long, is too elaborate, and provides no transparency for the organization as a whole.

    good colleagues, flexible environment, opportunities to learn various technology.

    Cons

    antiquated structure, politics, very limited communication with management, middle managers more concerned with protecting their domain than helping staff learn and advance.

    listen to your people and understand new people may bring more value than old

    Pros

    There are many great colleagues and one can learn a lot. They have some really fantastic clients and the business is involved in a variety of interesting industries.

    Cons

    The owner doesn't understand or appreciate technology, and relies on underlings whose only motivation is to please him and keep their jobs. Some of the administrators have too much authority and not enough knowledge, and arrogantly assume their coworkers are idiots.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop disrespecting and letting your best talent get away, find and cultivate your best workers, give them some authority to buck complacent management.
