    Current Employee - Operations Coordinator

I have been working at RGP full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Each office operates like a small business.
Large corporate structure but limited heads in bureaucracy.
All individuals have access to directors and regional directors as the business is VERY flat.
Operations wears many hats, allowing for a diverse skill set.

    Cons

Culture in each office is almost exclusively set by Managing Director, thus you hope you have a nice one. Office politics is half the job. Compensation and bonuses are very discretionary allowing for favorites and abuse. Many departments stretched thin, and money is siphoned to the top (Directors and above). Operations department treated like afterthought although the department sometimes is the only thing keeping a office running. Very limited mobility due to flat culture. Management is very clique-y.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should realize who is actually doing work in each office (including examining the managing director). Support the operations department as great supportive staff can ensure a smooth experience for consultants and clients.

I worked at RGP as a contractor (more than 3 years)

    Pros

You have a lot of freedom when choosing projects and clients. Work / Life balance for consultants is a critical component of their business model, which is great for those who don't want to be road warriors.

    Cons

Little to no career path for consultants to move up through the company
LT tenured leaders in key markets, which doesn't allow others to move up
Tend to hire from the Big 4 or the Ivy Leagues for internal roles

    Neutral Outlook
    No opinion of CEO
