I have been working at RGP full-time (more than 5 years)

Pros

It is like working for a permanent company since company provides all the benefits like PTO, 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision, and online classes. All the client directors try to find the right fit for consultants and clients needs.

Cons

Downtime between projects but they do try to keep consultants busy if you have been with them for awhile.

I have been working at RGP full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You'll meet some fine, experienced consultants
The clients are generally high quality
They have a nice benefits package

    Cons

Negotiating your annual raise is a major issue
They are almost totally bottom line oriented. You are just a cog in their machinery.
The positions you'll fill tend to have low responsibility
You get nothing extra in your paycheck for noticing opportunities and helping to bring in business
Their retrospective facing staff augmentation model has lead to ossified management

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get some engagements with firms that are truly reshaping the world economy.
Have at least one true specialty area to which your employees can aspire
Encourage your consultants to step out of the box
