I have been working at RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Rich learning environment, opportunity to interact with and learn from students, and colleagues. I have a fantastic manager who is sensitive to my needs and allows me to follow my passions.

    Cons

Not all managers are like my own. There is a push for more publications and research and less emphasis on pragmatic work experience. The institution is in flux.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Innovation cannot be dictated, nor reputation created by counting words. When given autonomy and support, we flourish. Do read "Drive" by Daniel H. Pink.
