Pros

A small company like RVM that is quickly on its way up in the industry is a great place for motivated, hard-working individuals that want to personally play a role in the company's growth and success. Management has an open door policy for anyone who avails themself of the opportunity to share their thoughts and expectations. People who do not like to play an active role in their success may not have the same experience as someone who is willing to endure growing pains and adversity with the goal of achieving long-term success and respect in the industry. This job truely is what you make of it. If you do not want to be a pro-active team member and keep up with the contantly changing technology and tide of ediscovery, and if you are not up for challenges that resul in rewarding pay-offs then you should go somewhere else.

Cons

There is quit a bit of turnover just like anywhere else in the industry, but also because it is somewhat difficult to determine who will be a good fit in the company. A bullet point list of accomplishments and skills on a resume is not sufficient when you are trying to vet a team-player with a broad intelligence level who will get along with every department as well as be a good representative of the company to our client base.

Advice to Management

My suggestion to management is to look less at resumes and past experience and offer prospective employees an opportunity to show you what they're made of. Give applicants an assignment and allow them to present their work to you in their own way to showcase their communication and people skills. People are more than the 4 corners of their resume, and the people who have done the best at this company would have been denied outright if judged solely by the content of their resumes.

    Pros

Supportive and helpful co-workers, some projects are mildly interesting, there some opportunity to pick up new knowledge, if given enough time.

    Cons

Extreme pressure from management with no direction, good work rewarded only with more meaningless work, there is no balance between work and life, unpaid mandatory overtime, no communication between teams, many people are untrained and uneducated, everyone is extremely scared for their job, management is purposely oblivious to all that is going on. Understaffed. Horrible operations infrastructure. Non-existent benefits. Poor compensation. No opportunities to advance. Management does not care about anyone's opinion. Revolving door, constant stream of people leaving this place.

    Advice to Management

This place needs a change of management, I have nothing to say to current one, except maybe stop thinking about pure profit at any cost built on backs of your employees.

    Pros

RVM hires personnel with very limited knowledge in the industry so it may be a good starting point for someone looking to get into the e discovery industry.

    Cons

    Understaffed
    Horrible operations infrastructure
Understaffed with employees who are overwork, inexperienced and no training provided creating a very tense working environment
Company is managed poorly and employees are not given the necessary tools to perform their jobs well
Employees are punished for their hard work, advancement is not possible, compensation is poor

    Advice to Management

Invest in a better infrastructure, create a better work environment, reward hard work, hire more experienced personnel to alleviate the burden imposed on employees now, manage expectations
