It was a lot of work for the amount of money that you were paid.

Pros

They offer get cellphone plans to their associates. They have good store discounts for employees. The schedule is more flexible for associates than for managers.

Cons

They always wanted more. The company wanted you to shove cellphone sales down each customers throat. You were consistently pressured to increase sales. Pushing cell phones on each and every customer even if you knew that you sold that person a phone 2 weeks ago and they aren't eligible for a new phone for a few years.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Offering better customer service doesn't mean pressuring each and every customer who can in the door.

    Pros

    Discount was decent. The training program was very educational and intuitive, however majority of sales associates are put to work prior to completion which shows in lack of knowledge at average RadioShack.

    Cons

    Store Managers are only allowed one day off during the week even if they exceed sales goals and other competitions. A lot of promises were made but not followed through.

    Compensation should be based on more than productivity and seniority.

    Pros

    A lot of long time loyal customers

    Cons

    compensation changes quarterly and usually to a lower standard that does not meet competitors pay wages / commisions

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop getting rid of good employees and micro management. Calling in numbers every hour because 1 store in the district is doing bad is no reason to punish the whole. Commisions have been getting worse and makes it harder to bring in above average Employees causing lack of motivation by hiring only non experianced who are sub-par. The old addage that you get what you pay for rings true in sales.
