I worked at Rady Children's Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Wonderful doctors and nurses, superior patent care

    Cons

Grossly understaffed in support areas. Remaining employees are expected to do the work of 3 or 4 people. Management has good ideas but unrealistic timelines. Morale can be very low in some departments.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay more attention to the employees who are assigned to DO the work. Those are the people who can help set deadlines more realistically.

I look out for the hospital's needs, but the hospital doesn't look out for me.

I have been working at Rady Children's Hospital full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice location. Friendly staff. Decent salary, though the cost of living in California is probably what drives that.

    Cons

Job performance is all about productivity. They work you to the bone, expect you to not only meet but exceed productivity, and they offer very little in return. In a 10 hour day, I get 30 minutes for lunch (making my day 10 hrs 30 mins) and never any other breaks to even catch a breath. In the end, they only look out for themselves, not the hardworking individuals who make the organization function.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Have dedicated lactation rooms! Offer childcare for working moms! This is an organization with hundreds of employed young women and yet our needs seem to go unnoticed.
