Pride goeth before a fall my friend, and Rain Bird is toppling faster than a sand castle on a rainy day. Multi-year development for basic simple products that should be churned out in six to nine months does not inspire a great deal of confidence.

Always remember, even a broken clock is right at least twice a day. The same is true for Rain Bird, there will always be a few who love it, as I am sure there were those citizens of Iraq who enjoyed living under Sadam Hussein's dominance, or those in Stalin's Soviet Gulag's who thought it was a great deal. In history those people were often called collaborators, sycophants or toadys.

"A sycophant (from the Greek s???f??t?? sykophántes) is a servile person who, acting in his or her own self interest, attempts to win favor by flattering one or more influential persons, with an undertone that these actions are executed at the cost of his or her own personal pride, principles, and peer respect."

Good luck with your sycophancy and enjoy your life as a toady.

PS: An alternate definition of sycophant is "Parasite".

"Majority of us?" what "Majority of us" are you talking about? With the turnover rates Rain Bird experiences, the "Majority" of people Rain Bird hires are fired, pushed out, or leave of their own accord! So much for the vaunted "we screen for the best and the brightest". The best and the brightest end up leaving. They vote with their feet. This is a condemnation of the company in and of itself!

At Rain Bird everything is propaganda and political posturing. Having worked their, once you start really digging into things, you find that a candy coated shell, houses a rotten and festering center.

This posting blows my mind, and highlights how a small group of deluded people, who find themselves in positions of power, can assume that theirs is the right way, no matter what. Unbelievable!

Enjoy yourself until they push you out, or walk you out the door. Ever wonder why there are so few veterans in the company with over 10 years of experience, and why so many are at the competition? It makes no sense, except in the Rain Bird "Cloud-Cukoo-Land" version of the world.

A little birdie told me that sixteen people will be gone in the next two weeks. They are shifting to five days a week instead of seven. They are down to twenty something presses out of almost seventy (factoring out the ten or so that they sent to Mexico). I hope that people that read these postings understand how much Rain Turd is going down the crapper. Hmmm...new product idea... a toilet. Seems we are good at flushing jobs, people, product, we may as well flush other things.

Rain Bird, just another check in the block on your resume. I don't see how such rapid turnover is good for anybody, owner, directors, managers or rank and file. It's like an out of control carnival ride.

This post is priceless. It just shows how the few people who have been institutionalized believe they are now the BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA. Please I worked for true business leaders and NO MANAGERS like Mike D or any of the other clowns can hold thier jock strap. I can start naming names of clowns sitting near Tony's office but I must restrain myself....I alwayslook around and say these Sr. Management Clowns can't survive in the real world.... Tony have your secretary print these blogs out and read them ....

Good to see there is a person pro RB, someone needs to guide the ship to the bottom of the sea.
One of the best Product Manager I have ever know worked for RB. He moved on to a very successful medical company, which current employees call RB North I think. He was one of two division managers when he left. The wrong one was let go, does Magner still work there? When a company promotes Engineers to a marketing position one too many times, RB is what happens to a comapny.

LZ & Alan, please post something else! The term often used for A JOKE MOST DON'T GET is, "you had to be there" and that definitely applies to Rain Bird. The helarious subsequent responses are so right on (and you know it) so stop defending your paycheck. I've never laughed so hard. I beg you, just one more Rain Bird rah, rah response. Do it, I dare you. Come to think of it, "LZ & and Alan" are only one emplyee who thinks he is two due to that schizophrenic, narcissistic minds most adopt when trying to survive. Come to think of it, you're not employed anymore at Rain Bird are you? It's been a month and the investigation they conducted pointed all evidence back to you for inciting this riot. (definition: disorderly behavior OR one that is wildly amusing -- both apply)

Try to stay on topic, Please no rambling. People need to here the true about the Bird, but in a clear credible way. Postings like yours just lend to the impression that these comments are left by a few deranged angry individuals, instead of professionals leaving credible opinions of the Bird.
