I worked at Raley's
Pros – Good benefits and pay.
Clean work environment.
Cons – Very poor Management
Dishonest Management
Bad scheduling (24 hours a week, worked over 6 days)
No training
Knowingly promote problem employees to management positions.
Employees are to only do as they are told. They dont want you to ask questions, or share ideas or suggestions.
They are open about Raleys NOT being a 'teamwork' company.
Unrealistic work expectations.
Raleys used to be a good place to work, but more recently its obvious the company is having problems and they are looking to blame anyone but mgmt for the issues.
Advice to Senior Management – Be honest with your employees. Dont tell them what they want to hear, to then have someone else hand out the bad news. The employees know it came from you and they lose any respect they had for you. Be reasonable in scheduling. Only giving 24hours, but having someone work 6, 4 hour shifts a week, (over 6 days) is unreasonable.
Have some respect for your employees. They arent idiots, dont treat them like they are.
Try giving some positive feedback occasionally. Pounding people constantly for not being good enough, fast enough, etc, is not the way to help people improve their skills.
Dont promote people who cant do the job they are being promoted to.
Quit spending stupid amts of money on programs that wont make difference in anything meaningful. (Project Simplify anyone?)
Try lowering prices to bring in more customers instead of blaming the front line employees for the loss of business.
LISTEN to the people who do the work! Respect your employees. Without them, where would you be?
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
