I worked at Rambus as an intern for less than a year

Pros

Very friendly atmosphere
Competitive pay( I was an intern there and my pay was comparable to what my friends in other sw firms were being paid)
Good work/life balance

Cons

They seem to be going through a bit of a dry patch at the moment. They went through a 15% staffing cut while I was there.

Former Employee - IP Strategy in Sunnyvale, CA

I worked at Rambus full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Benefits are phenomenal, location is great. New product-centric business units run like up-beat startups with purpose. New CEO seems to have a good perspective on transitioning to a business services model.

    Cons

Kind of a downer to work for a licensing company that makes money primarily by patent infringement lawsuits. Patent troll culture is kind of ingrained in the middle management. Cost-cutting inevitably creates a "get out while you can" environment until the transition to a new business model turns the corner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Flatten the structure by a level. Flush the management structure to bring in product-centric folks to match the new business model. Change the company name, not just the logo.
