I have been working at Rauxa

Pros

- Fun and cool co-workers
 - Talented and competent Creative team
 - Experienced and knowledgeable Production team
 - Strong and successfull Data/Strategy team
 - Hard working Account team
 - Incredible CEO who has impeccable business sense and a strong background

Cons

I agree with a previous review that to fit in here, you have to sell your soul. This company does not want someone who thinks for themselves and brings their own ideas to the table. They want a clone - someone who will come in and conform to their methods and work on their canned campaigns without question. This has been one of the most challenging obstacles to overcome. If you accept a position here, expect to hear very little about what you're doing well. You'll hear a lot of "thank yous" but they are superficial. It seems the new hires are very discouraged early on because it's constant criticism until they've been broken.
The other point I want to make is that Jill (CEO) is an incredibly smart woman. She has great business advice and insight. However, she is very client-oriented. In my opinion, this is why there are bad reviews about the upper management. This client-oriented business model neglects a company's most important asset - the human asset. Rauxa clients are spoiled rotten (literally) and the Account and Creative teams work 11 hour days bending over backward for them. This is my biggest complaint - 11 hour days they don't mention in the interviews (and management who get to leave work at a reasonable time). There's no work-life balance for the worker bees at the bottom.

Advice to ManagementAdvice

Employees drive the economic engine of a company. Happy employees will yield happy clients. People who are able to have a life will be more satisfied at work.

I have been working at Rauxa

    Pros

Fast growing technology consultancy, which does a great job of finding smart, capable people to work on projects. The owners run a tight ship and have their sights set on growth. Despite their ambitions, they pay a little more than lip service to the contrary goal of providing a family-friendly work atmosphere. The most valuable perk they provide towards family-friendliness is a flexible work environment, where the majority of team members choose to work from home.

Business development and marketing have been made a higher priority in recent years.

    Cons

The company is plagued by issues typical of small tech consultancies. There is always the need to find the next client or project to cover the ever-increasing payroll. The work is not steady – it is either feast or famine. This often means working weekends one week, and having little to do the next. The company has issues with scheduling and communication – some may be vastly overworked, while another with the same skill set is underworked.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Management should consider alternative revenue sources by spinning out certain initiatives into products, and place product engineers on these initiatives full time.
